POST DOCTORAL FELLOWSHIP

Dr. Mitchell Albert’s laboratory focuses on developing novel hyperpolarized 129Xe MRI imaging techniques for the brain and the lungs. We are looking for a Postdoctoral Fellow (PDF) applicant to work independently with supervision from Dr. Albert. As a requirement, you will need to have completed a PhD in physics or chemistry within the last 6 years and previous experience working with either nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) or electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR). The applicant will work in a diverse environment with a multidisciplinary team to achieve the study aims. As a PDF candidate, you will assist in research as well as other laboratory responsibilities. This may include but is not limited to:

● Planning, designing, conducting and analyzing research, preclinical, and clinical experiments.

● Willing to teach courses in accordance with conditions as a contract lecturer.

● Participating in conferences and other research dissemination events.

● Publishing of research, journal articles, conference abstracts etc.

● Collaborating with laboratory staff and fellow researchers.

● Supervise undergraduate/graduate experiments.

● Assist in grant writing.

The PDF candidate should have excellent time management capabilities and communication skills as well as a solid understanding of PCs and MS Office. The candidate should be also familiar with programming, data analysis, and statistical analysis. The knowledge of MatLab, LabView, and C++ would be an asset. The knowledge of electrodynamics and radiophysics would be an asset.

Salary: $CAN 52,500/year + benefits

Term: 1-year with the possibility of renewal

Expected Hours: 35 hours/week
