Administrative Assistant

Office of the Associate Vice-President, Orillia

Full time hours, Up to 9-month contract,

$37,427 to $46,783

Under the direction of the Associate Vice-President and Project Lead, Lakehead-Georgian Partnership, the Administrative Assistant (AA) will deliver exceptional administrative support within a fast-paced, multi-project environment. The AA will operate with little supervision while carrying out a variety of administrative duties efficiently, effectively and with a customer focused approach.

The AA will coordinate and provide support to schedules, meetings and events while taking initiative to proactively meet various administrative demands and responding appropriately to the inquiries of students, staff and faculty.

Through the use of highly effective communication, presentation and technology skills, the AA will assist with presenting a professional image for Lakehead University, the Office of Community Programs, and the Lakehead-Georgian Partnership.

The successful candidate will possess:

?         Post Secondary Education in office or business administration, or in a related program;

?         3 years of administrative experience, supporting multiple stakeholders, ideally in an education or public sector setting;

?         Excellent communication, interpersonal and relationship building skills

?         Excellent organization and prioritization skills;

?         Ability to work well in a team or independently, using self-direction to complete work;

?         Excellent customer focus and attention to detail;

?         Demonstrate effective problem-solving skills;

?         Strong commitment to privacy, confidentiality and displaying tact and diplomacy in difficult situations; and

?         Proficient computers skills including with Email, Word Processing and related office software.
