Advising, Timetables & Registering

Exploring Your Options

As a fully comprehensive university, Lakehead provides you with many program offerings to discover. Being a university student includes discovering the options that exist for you and finding the right one based on your interests, goals, aspirations, learning styles, etc. Whether you are looking to add to your program with options like a minor, specialization or certificate, or are looking at a new program altogether, we are here to help you find your passion.

Academic Advising

Academic advising is essential to your success. Whether you are interested in discussing your academic goals, checking to ensure you are on track to graduation, exploring ways to add value to your degree, or interested in exploring other program options, your Faculty Advisor and/or Student Central Professionals are here to help you realize your educational goals. There are so many options and ways we can support you!

NOTE:  Before meeting with Student Central, ensure you contact your Faculty Advisor (if applicable).

Timetables

Depending on the courses in which you are enrolled, they may have midterm exams and/or final exams. As a student, it is your responsibility to ensure you are aware if you have an exam, the location, date and time of the exam as well as the rules that govern the exam process. For most programs, final exams are normally conducted twice during the Fall/Winter term during a December exam period and an April exam period. You must remain available for your exams and ensure any travel plans do not conflict with the exam dates and periods including the exam contingency dates.

Registering for Your Courses

Whether you are new to Lakehead or returning for another year, you have made a great choice.  In order to start or continue with your academics at Lakehead, you will need to register for your courses. Depending on your program, you may have several options in your course selection, while in others your options for courses are more prescribed. During key times of the year, we also offer "Fast Pass" a registration workshop series to help you with all your registration needs.

IMPORTANT!
Be sure you review your program requirements in the Academic Calendar to ensure you know what courses are required for your program.
