In addition to meeting the general admission requirements for Lakehead University, applicants to the Music program must also satisfy non-academic admission requirements which includes:
An audition: The audition will normally be comprised of two or three contrasting pieces or complete movements totalling no more than 15 minutes. Candidates must supply copies of the music to be performed to the audition panel and must arrange for their own accompanist if necessary. The audition can be performed in-person at the Thunder Bay Campus before June 1, 2016. Auditions after June 1, 2016 will be considered in exceptional circumstances only.
Theory entrance test: Candidates performing their audition in-person will be required to write the Theory Screening Test during this time.
Applicants are responsible for setting up an audition and theory entrance test by contacting the Department of Music at (807) 343-8787.
Once the audition and theory entrance test deadline dates have passed, the Department of Music will continue to consider late applicants on an individual basis.
