One Year Contract OPSEU Position

$27.13 - $31.84 per hour

Primarily 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 11:30 a.m. - 7:30 p.m. shifts rotating every two weeks, Monday to Friday.

When required, hours of work may be modified to suit the needs of the University.

 

 

Lakehead University has a one-year contract opportunity within the Technology Service Centre.  Reporting to the Manager, Data, Voice and Multimedia, the successful candidate will actively setup and maintain a variety of audio, video, and control devices for classrooms, meeting rooms, lecture theatres and various events.

 

The successful candidate will possess a related post-secondary education (or equivalent experience) in the operation and maintenance of multimedia / video conferencing equipment. This should be complemented with exceptional customer service skills, strong organizational skills and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.  Additional related certifications are preferred.

 

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

 

•           providing technology support for administration, staff, faculty and students

•           installing, maintaining, and configuring classroom technology equipment

•           providing support in the use of video conferencing equipment

•           auditing and identifying challenges related to damage, malfunctions, and failures in equipment

•           content distribution, and other collaborative technologies.

•           troubleshooting production audio/visual and video conferencing equipment

•           event setup and support

 

The incumbent will require knowledge in the operation and maintenance of multimedia, audio/visual and video conferencing technologies used on campus.  This includes:

 

•           understanding Windows/Mac operating systems and software as it pertains to presentations

•           a thorough understanding of the various classroom presentation and audio technologies

•           setting up and operation audio mixers, speakers and wired/wireless microphones

•           understanding and knowledge of video conferencing equipment and technologies
