Monday to Friday.

When required, days and hours of work may be modified to suit the needs of the Department

 

 

Under the supervision of the Manager of Health Services, the Program Assistant will provide clinical, administrative, and reception support to Student Health and Wellness in order to facilitate daily operations.

 

Responsibilities include greet and check in patients; monitor inventory supplies; clean and inspect exam rooms as per Infection Prevention and Control guidelines; process and gather relevant information for personal health requests as per PHIPA guidelines; maintain statistical records; and provide administrative and reception support when required.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

•           College diploma with Medical Administrative Certificate or equivalent, coupled with a minimum of two years’ experience in a medical office;

•           Proficiency with computer software programs, including the Microsoft Office and electronic           health records;

•           Knowledge of provincial and international health insurance plans and experience with medical

terminology and billing;

•           Excellent verbal and written communication skills, organizational and interpersonal skills;

•           Ability to work and handle all office duties in a confidential manner;

•           Ability to critically think, solve problems and make good decisions to meet patient/client needs;

•           Good knowledge of and a commitment to the principles of patient centered care;

•           Ability to multitask a variety of high priority duties and work under the pressure of deadlines;

•           Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
