As the Health Promotions Activity Lead you will be responsible for the implementation of health and wellness programming for Lakehead University students across both Thunder Bay and Orillia campuses. Under the supervision of the Health Promoter, you will plan, coordinate, and deliver health and wellness activities (i.e. Fall health fair, Bell Let’s Talk, Thrive Week, etc). You will assist with the development of creative and engaging programming to promote Centre services and events, host and support awareness of community health resources, and develop partnerships with community partners. You will also assist with the development and delivery of health and wellness sessions in collaboration with other Centre professionals and/or Peer Wellness Educators. You will also assist with the planning, development and revision of promotional material, as well as distribute educational material. You will be an active participant in team meetings and help oversee the Peer Wellness Education Program and the Student Wellness Advisory Team (SWAT), including coordinating, and mentoring the Peer Wellness Educator Leads and student volunteers; recruiting student members and assisting with SWAT meetings.

 

As the successful candidate you will have some experience in training and leading teams (volunteer or paid positions). Event planning is considered an asset. An understanding of the health care needs of a diverse post-secondary student population is important. You are resourceful and are dedicated to efficient productivity. You must be proficient in Microsoft Office programs and social media communication. You have the ability to effectively organize and prioritize work demands, as well as work independently and as part of a team. You will be able to work flexible hours, which may include evenings and weekends.
