Reporting to the Operations Advisor, Faculty of Law, the Manager Strategic Initiatives and Student Engagement will be responsible for establishing, advancing and leading the Faculty of Law’s identity, image and reputation by identifying and implementing strategic priorities related to marketing, events, funding, and student engagement. The successful candidate will enhance the vision and mission of the Faculty through the development of a strategic communications plan (including website and social media), marketing and engagement initiatives, and by advising senior leadership on best approaches to advance the Bora Laskin Faculty of Law’s brand that meet the needs of the Faculty’s stakeholders including faculty, staff, students, prospective students, donors, alumni, community partners, and the general public.

The Manager will ensure that the strategic initiatives of the Faculty’s leadership are consistent, aligned and supportive of the Faculty’s overall objectives. The successful candidate will be responsible for bringing together different functions within the Faculty to ensure the successful execution of all strategic priorities.

The successful candidate will have a university degree, plus a minimum of 6-8 years’ experience in the areas of community relations, event management, and academic administration. The incumbent must also possess excellent interpersonal skills and be able to work with a variety of people, including senior administrators, students, alumni, faculty, and staff. The ability to build collegial relationships and consensus and to display initiative will be essential. The Manager will be a strategic thinker who integrates knowledge of the Faculty of Law and its priorities with the delivery of related actions and strategies. While adapting to changing environments and working under pressure to meet multiple deadlines, the Manager will display an ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate discretion, diplomacy, and good judgement.
