The research engineer position will provide technical and engineering support to various research projects. The research engineer will be expected to demonstrate leadership and innovation in executing their work, and will be able to tackle problems independently with supervisory input from the team. The research engineer will design and construct MRI coils, circuits and other apparatuses used for conducting research studies. Additionally, the research engineer will be responsible for the proper operation, function, and maintenance of the polarizer and coils, MRI scanner, and any other devices used in experiments and clinical studies. The research engineer will be expected to participate in all clinical and preclinical research activities including developing experimental design, data collection and analysis, phantom experiments, pulse sequence development, contributing to research publications, presentations and grant applications, communicating with industry partners and equipment suppliers, and ordering laboratory supplies. The research engineer will have excellent time management capabilities and communication skills, as well as a solid understanding of PCs, MS Office, MatLab, LabView and various other software. Experience with other software and electrical/mechanical analysis software will be an asset.
