$28.55 - $34.48 per hour

Primarily 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 11:30 a.m. - 7:30 p.m. shifts rotating every two weeks, Monday to Friday.
When required, hours of work may be modified to suit the needs of the University.
Lakehead University has a full-time opportunity within the Technology Service Centre. Reporting to the Manager, Data, Voice and Multimedia, the successful candidate will provide technical support to the administration, staff, faculty, and students by scheduling and troubleshooting production audio/visual and video conferencing hardware, delivery, set up, and support of classroom technology. The Multimedia Technician II will develop classroom technology room design, program audio/visual and video conferencing equipment and create/maintain documentation of installations. This involves auditing and identifying challenges related to damage, malfunctions, and failures in equipment.
The successful candidate will possess a post secondary diploma/degree related to multimedia technologies (or equivalent experience) complimented with certification in the same field. The successful candidate must have successful completion of Creston CTI-P201.
Interpersonal, communication and troubleshooting skills as well as proficient time management are required. Experience in A/V classroom / meeting space design, knowledge of professional audio, design, and installation, including echo cancellation and sound reinforcement is required. The incumbent will require knowledge and understanding of the operation and maintenance of multimedia and audio/visual equipment used on campus, this includes:
• Understanding Windows/Mac operating systems and software as it pertains to presentations
• Thorough understanding of the various classroom presentation and audio technologies
• Setting up and using PA systems: audio mixers, speakers and wired/wireless microphones
• Understanding and knowledge of video conferencing equipment, methods and technologies
