$27.06 - $32.39 per hour

Primarily an 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. shift, Monday to Friday.

When required, hours of work may be modified to suit the needs of the University.

 

Lakehead University has an immediate opportunity for employment within the Technology Services Centre.  Reporting to the Manager of Server, Desktop & Client Services, the incumbent will provide first level support to students, faculty, and staff. As the initial point of contact for reporting technical problems, seeking solutions, and making routine requests for services, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing clients with accurate, courteous, and clear technical assistance in person, through email and telephone and on-line ticketing system. Responsibilities also include researching issues, directing clients to the appropriate alternative resources, providing clients with necessary documentation, and depositing money onto client accounts.   

 

The successful candidate has post-secondary education along with computer, technical and networking knowledge. The ability to multitask, process challenging inquiries as well as work independently and adapt to change in a fast-paced environment with constant interruptions are a must. Additionally, the successful candidate has excellent communication, both orally and in writing, and interpersonal skills with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues and communicate complex technical information in straightforward terms. Has the ability to rapidly self-educate on new concepts and tools and a desire and ability to continue learning to stay ahead of the typical customer’s knowledge and experience.
