The School of Nursing invites applications from qualified individuals for the Nursing Simulation Lab Coordinator. The Simulation Lab Coordinator (SLC) applies specialized technical and practical skills to support faculty and students by facilitating learning environments and experiences to bridge the gap between theory and clinical practice. The SLC is independently responsible for the purchasing, operation, inventory, and evaluation of technology, such as mannequins and software, for the benefit of faculty
and students in the School of Nursing.
Working in collaboration with the nursing faculty, the incumbent will support the planning, integration, and delivery of patient simulation within the BScN curriculum. We are seeking an individual with the following qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing as a minimal educational requirement. Master of Nursing
is preferred.
• Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
• At least 5 years nursing experience in a variety of health settings
• Experience with standard computer software including, but not limited to
Internet Explorer, Microsoft Office (creation of documents and presentations),
and Excel (Technology Inventory and ordering of supplies), and Adobe Acrobat DC
(fillable PDFs)
• Experience working with nursing students in a classroom, lab and/or clinical setting
• Demonstrated ability in instructional design
• Knowledge of research and scholarship are required for routine evaluation
and planning of high-fidelity simulation activities
• Demonstrated skill in the use of computers and technology to support teaching
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
