Lakehead University, Thunder Bay Campus, invites applications for three positions, one tenure-track position and two 3-year Limited Term Appointments in the Department of Computer Science. The positions will commence August 1, 2019 at the rank of Assistant Professor.

  • Tenure Track (1 position): Applications are invited from outstanding candidates in Computer Science with a strong research focus in the broad category with preferences in the following areas: Artificial intelligence, Nature language processing, Pattern recognition, Neural Networks, Human Computer Interaction, Computer Vision, Software Engineering, Social Computing and Social Media, Cyber security, Networks and network Security.

 

  • Limited Term Appointment (2 positions): Applications are invited from outstanding candidates in Computer Science with a strong teaching focus in the broad category with preferences in the following areas: Software Engineering, Databases, Algorithm Analysis, Cloud Computing, Clinical Decision Support, Health Informatics, Theory of computing and Computer Networks. Applications with exceptional teaching and research record in other areas will also be considered.

The successful candidate is expected to support our spectrum of undergraduate and graduate teaching needs along with initiating an externally funded research program and contributing to the supervision of graduate students in our MSc. Program.  Applicants should hold a Ph.D. in Computer Science or a related discipline. Post-doctoral or industry experience will be considered as an asset.

Department of Computer Science is a fast-growing department with total 9 full-time faculty members including one research chair. Our faculty members are involved in various externally funded research programs.
