Acting as a member of the Accounts Receivable Team, the purpose of this role is to oversee international student customer service, collections UHIP administration, international sponsor invoicing, and general reporting requirements. It will regularly liaise with staff at Lakehead University International to ensure unified messaging to students, sponsors and the general public regarding Lakehead University policy and procedure. Additionally, this individual will act in an advisory role on all matters pertaining to international students in accordance with the Lakehead University strategic plan.

DUTIES:
Deliver high quality, advanced customer service providing accurate and detailed information for international students on all student fee matters; includes knowledgeable advice on a broad range of international topics over and above finances.


Oversee collections of International Student Accounts; includes ensuring international payment solutions are running effectively and efficiently (e.g. Travelex/Western Union, Electronic Transfer payment/refund facilitation), and call campaigns targeting international students.


Manage and oversee the health insurance enrollment process.

Liaise with, invoice, and collect from various International Sponsoring Agencies (e.g. CBIE, Royal Saudi Bureau of Education, Government of Libya, etc.)
General accounts receivable duties, provide reports as requested, and account adjustments.

QUALIFICATIONS:
The successful candidate will have a university degree with background in business, accounting or administration. Experience working in a university environment is preferred. The ability to communicate in a language other than English is an asset. Skills required include: Leadership skills, interpersonal skills, strong communication skills, ability to resolve conflict, advanced computer skills, analytical/research skills, ability to work independently, collaboration skills, ability to handle multiple projects, tasks and deadlines, creativity and innovation in systems and process review., knowledge of diverse cultures, knowledge of global economic and political realities and emerging markets, knowledge and understanding of human behavior and international student needs, knowledge of domestic and international education systems, knowledge of collections protocols and issues for international receivable.
