Course: Outdoor Skills and Theory II : OUTD 2350 WA/WB and
labs
Position Duties: To teach any or all of the following: skiing (classical,
skate, backcountry and telemark), snow shoeing, winter camping, ice climbing, leadership and wilderness living skills. Duties may also include: grading assignments, assisting in lectures and providing logistical support for activities.
Position Qualifications: Successful candidates must have certification and/or experience in one or more of the aforementioned skills. She or he must possess excellent teaching skills, be equally proficient in both technical and people skills and have first aid training (Wilderness First Responder preferred). Successful candidates must have a demonstrated ability in organizing and managing instructional classes and wilderness trips. Experience designing and constructing outdoor equipment would also be an asset.
