Swing by for a trip down memory lane with our Snack Time Machine, and get creative at the decorate-your-own notebook station — perfect for bringing on placement and being the coolest teacher ever with the coolest notebook ever.

We invite ALL students to a FREE BBQ and a round of mini putt — play solo or with friends! Each hole on the course is themed around a different student service, so as you putt your way through, you’ll discover all the amazing supports available to help you succeed at Lakehead.

This outdoor event is weather-dependent — in case of rain, we’ll reschedule for our rain date: Tuesday, September 9.

We invite ALL new students to join us for our Downtown Adventure in beautiful downtown Orillia. We’ll head downtown together from campus and show you just how easy it is to get there using your Lakehead Bus Pass—or bring some change if you don’t have one yet! Once downtown, you’ll be free to explore with friends or alongside our Orientation Leaders.

You’ll get a map of the downtown core, plus a curated list of special stops—businesses that are excited to welcome you with possible discounts, samples, or freebies! We’ll also give you $5 in Downtown Dollars to spend at any participating business—whether it’s for a small treat or to put toward a larger purchase.

There’s also a lively farmers’ market happening that Saturday (as there is every Saturday—but this one will be especially fun!). The city has lots planned downtown that day, making it the perfect time to explore, grab some deals, and see just how awesome downtown Orillia is.

We invite ALL new students to join us for The First Howl: Orientation Day! This fun-filled day is all about showing your Thunderwolf spirit, connecting with fellow new students, meeting your future professors, getting a few important tasks checked off your to-do list, and having fun. You won’t want to miss it! Participating in Orientation Day also gives you the chance to earn ballots toward our grand prize draws, and yes—lunch is FREE for all students!

Residence students have house meetings—why shouldn’t you? New commuter students, join us at your very own "house meeting" to get tips on winter driving, saving on gas, making friends while living off-campus, and more. Discover the ins and outs of commuting to Orillia!

Note: There's a super fun Commuter Social happening just before this. If you’re a commuter student, try to attend both events and kick off your Orientation on the right foot!

We warmly invite all commuter and international students to join the Commuter & International Student Social! Enjoy light refreshments and a relaxed atmosphere to connect with fellow students who share your experience, along with representatives from various campus departments.

This event will take place while Residence students are moving in, so it’s the perfect opportunity to meet new people and get oriented at your own pace.
