Embrace the magic of winter on January 10th, 2024 in the Agora for LUSU's Winter Carnival! Join LUSU Centres for fun games, prizes, and invaluable resources. Take a tour around campus on a horse-drawn wagon. Warm up at our Hot Chocolate Bar or get cozy by the crackling fire pit at Lake Tamblyn. Don't miss this chance to make unforgettable memories in the heart of winter!
Stop by for coffee & cookies and to learn about services offered by the Academic Support Zone and Student Success Centre - including resources specific to transfer and mature students!
Lakehead International is excited to welcome new international students to our New International Student Winter Welcome Day. Orientation provides new international students with an opportunity to meet new friends, engage with Lakehead staff members and departments, gather informaiton about student services and supports, learn about the community and campus, and navigate their new surroundings. Lunch, campus tours, city tours, grocery store run, opening of bank accounts, SIN clinics, etc. will be availble for students in the afternoon.
Please note that this is a MANDATORY event for all new international students!

On January 12th, Session 1 will focus on practical tips on how to get the best out of your academic experience. The session will cover tips for time management, note-taking, and study smarts.
On January 19th, Session 2 will focus on time management, how to plan your calendar, and achieve a healthy work-life balance.

Our in-person Orientation to Campus Tours are designed to familiarize our incoming students and their supporters (if applicable) with their new campus at Lakehead University! In these tours, incoming students are shown where all the buildings are, how to get to your classes, great study spots and locate our various student supports and much more! Our live, guided tours are hosted by our Orientation to Campus Tour Guides.
Orillia campus: Orientation to Campus Tours will start at Simcoe Hall and will begin promptly at the starting time. Each tour is approximately 30-45 minutes in length.

As a new student, getting acquainted with the campus and connecting with others will be a top priority. That's why all new international students must attend our International Student Welcome Day, which is an orientation day, designed specifically for international students. It is the perfect opportunity for all new international students to learn about campus, discover the many supports and services available, connect with the ISS team and other new students. All new students should plan to attend Orientation. Please register in advance!
