We invite ALL new students to our First ever Wolfie's Warmup. This will be a fun-filled event where you can show your Thunderwolf spirit, get to know other new students, play some interactive games, enjoy some snacks, and make signs before heading over to the soccer fields to support our athletes at our second annual home opener! This is a day you are not going to want to miss!

We invite ALL students to a FREE BBQ and a round of mini putt — play solo or with friends! Each hole on the course is themed around a different student service, so as you putt your way through, you’ll discover all the amazing supports available to help you succeed at Lakehead.

This outdoor event is weather-dependent — in case of rain, we’ll reschedule for our rain date

Bonus: Don’t miss the WellU Wednesday: Block Party, hosted by Student Health and Wellness, happening right alongside the action!

Get excited for the Toronto Blue Jays University & College Night at the Rogers Centre! This event is open to students who are new to Lakehead Orillia & Barrie STEMHub, including both first-year and transfer students. The event includes free transportation and a game ticket — you’ll just need to cover your own dinner!

IMPORTANT NOTES: 

• This trip has a limited number of spots, as we only have a certain number of free tickets and free bus seats. Please note that registering does not guarantee your spot. Emily, the trip organizer, will send a personal confirmation email within 48 hours of your submission to let you know whether you secured a ticket.

• There is another Lakehead Blue Jays trip on the same night that is not affiliated with Orientation. Our Alumni Office is also bringing a group of their own to this game, but their trip differs from ours: it is open to all students (ours is for new incoming students only), costs $70–$90 (ours is free), and transportation may not be included (ours has a free bus booked). Please be careful not to confuse the two trips!

We invite ALL new students to join us for The First Howl: Orientation Day! This fun-filled day is all about showing your Thunderwolf spirit, connecting with fellow new students, meeting your future professors, getting a few important tasks checked off your to-do list, and having fun. You won’t want to miss it! Participating in Orientation Day also gives you the chance to earn ballots toward our grand prize draws, and yes—lunch is FREE for all students!

We welcome ALL new students to drop by 5 Ross to pickup swag, register for upcoming orientation events, get a few important tasks checked off your to-do list and enter into a draw for some cool prizes!

We invite ALL new students to join us for our Downtown Adventure in beautiful downtown Orillia. We’ll head downtown together from campus and show you just how easy it is to get there using your Lakehead Bus Pass—or bring some change if you don’t have one yet! Once downtown, you’ll be free to explore with friends or alongside our Orientation Leaders.

You’ll get a map of the downtown core, plus a curated list of special stops—businesses that are excited to welcome you with possible discounts, samples, or freebies! We’ll also give you $5 in Downtown Dollars to spend at any participating business for the first 80 registered students—whether it’s for a small treat or to put toward a larger purchase.

There’s also a lively farmers’ market happening that Saturday (as there is every Saturday—but this one will be especially fun!). The city has lots planned downtown that day, making it the perfect time to explore, grab some deals, and see just how awesome downtown Orillia is.

Note: There's a super fun Commuter Social happening just before this. If you’re a commuter student, try to attend both events and kick off your Orientation on the right foot!
