Your official welcome to Lakehead University! Join us and other new students at the LUSU Hangar for a welcome address made by Lakehead University President, Dr. Gillian Siddall, along with other guest speakers followed by a picnic-style dinner, games, and PRIZES!

Hop on the bus and head down to Marina Park for an excursion to Rockin Recovery including a performance from Canadian singer Craig Cardiff. (Take the #2 Crosstown/Waterfront city bus to the Water Street Terminal, use the pedestrian overpass to get to Marina Park)

Get familiar with all the services LUSU offers, meet and engage with Centre Coordinators, community organizations, locally owned food trucks and giant inflatable games! Campus departments, community organizations, and local businesses will join in on the fun allowing students to learn about the various supports on campus and to connect with various community partners.

Join us for a fun-filled day exploring your new home! You'll get the chance to discover the public transportation system while travelling to the downtown area to complete a bingo-style scavenger hunt featuring local favourite restaurants and businesses, and some interesting landmarks that serve as awesome photo-ops.

Please note that if you are interested in purchasing food or goods at any of the stores featured on the bingo card, you will be responsible for providing your own money to make these purchases. Transportation via the bus system will be covered as long as you have picked up your U-pass (bus pass sticker) from LUSU beforehand.

This workshop will introduce you to Lakehead's OMNI search system, and other resource tools which will help fulfill your research needs at Lakehead University. After attending this workshop, you will be know how to:

- find books on your topic, and how to request books from other Ontario universities
- how to find peer reviewed scholarly articles
- how to seek further assistance from the library
