Under the general direction of the Director, International Enrolment, the Manager, Agency Relations and Pathways will oversee the management, development, and review of Lakehead University’s global agency network of recruitment partners. This critical role ensures that the university’s agency relationships and engagement strategies align with the strategic priorities of the University, leading to the achievement of our international enrolment targets. The Manager, Agency Relations & Pathways is responsible for the review, selection, and contract signing of agents, their training & ongoing development, application supports and crisis response, performance management and incentive programs, and commission verification and processing. In addition, the Manager will oversee the network of pathway partners throughout Canada and in select global markets by providing selection, training, and recruitment support, and performance review and assessment on an ongoing basis.

The incumbent has post-secondary education in a related field, preferably in Business or International Business, and a minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience working in a post-secondary setting in the field of student recruitment and marketing; preferably, with experience working within an agency model of recruitment. The incumbent has demonstrated skills in navigating sensitive and difficult conversations and demonstrated excellence in cultural awareness skills and navigating cross-cultural environments; with strong skills in diplomacy and the ability to interact and liaise with individuals from all levels within an organization. Excellent marketing, organizational, project/event management, judgement, decision-making and customer service skills is required. The incumbent must thrive in a high volume, target-driven environment, meet deadlines and handle stressful working conditions. The ideal candidate possesses a creative mind, is entrepreneurial in spirit, and is a self-starter who has a knowledge of emerging communication technologies (i.e. web development, e-communications, portals, social media). The ability to research, compile vast amounts of information, and develop recommendations and strategies based on this work is required. The incumbent is proficient in advanced levels of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and publishing programs and laptop technology.

A valid Ontario driver's license and a willingness and ability to travel on university business and be available for flexible work hours, sometimes involving evenings and weekends during key periods of the recruitment and conversion cycle, is required; the incumbent must be comfortable travelling far distances, with the ability to be adaptive and make decisions relating to the unpredictable nature of international travel.
