As an enthusiastic, organized and adaptive individual who is exciting by the opportunity to showcase Lakehead University to prospective students through the planning and execution of all recruitment events held at both Thunder Bay and Orillia campuses.

 

The individual is accountable for all project management and event planning of timing, workbacks, resources,  budgets, content planning and communications for events hosted both in-person and  virtually with the objective of raising interest amongst prospective students and converting same to applicants.  The incumbent plays a critical role as a relationship builder across faculty and university service departments, promoting and engaging support for recruitment events, as well as acting as a key liaison officer with influencers including regional guidance counselors.  In addition to event coordination and execution, the incumbent acts as a recruiter within the key local catchment area, carrying out recruitment on-one-one initiatives and high school (virtual and in person) recruitment presentations.

 

The role oversees the Campus Tour Program, as lead for the Thunder Bay campus. This includes continuous monitoring of content delivery, hiring, training and coaching of student workers, introductory and closing touch points with prospects, follow up tracking and communications.  The role oversees all Thunder Bay student worker hiring, training, performance and task management as well as office administration

 

Candidates to this position must have completed a university degree and have at least 1 to 2 years of experience in a related capacity. As an outstanding communicator and presenter with demonstrated event planning skills, you have excellent time management, analytical and organizational abilities with a strong independent work ethic. You must have a demonstrated ability to foster, develop and maintain successful working relationships with multiple audiences and the ability to manage creative large-scale events. Sensitivity to privacy issues and a flexible work schedule is expected for this position. A Class G driver's licence is required, due to travel requirements.
