Job description

In the appointment of Research Assistant, your general duties and responsibilities will be doing Qualitative Research including ethics application, interviews with research participants, transcription of interviews, preparing reports, literature/library research, and provision of other research support and assistance.

Most of the work will be virtual, some interviews can be conducted in-person. You will report to the Principal Investigator.

 

Duration of Employment: 2023 Winter/Spring/Summer terms (might be extended to Fall 2023)

 

Qualifications (Skills and Abilities)

Being a master’s or Ph.D. student (e.g., Criminology, Sociology, Psychology, or Political Science) at Lakehead University and qualitative research experience are required.

Demonstrated interest and understanding in Indigenous issues in Canada is required. Interest in policing issues is preferred.

 

Salary: Up to $25.00 per hour
