Biorefining Research Institute of Lakehead University invites applications from qualified candidates for a one-year (with possibilities of one more year extension) postdoctoral fellowship appointment in forest biorefining research field.

 

Theproject involves the chemical modification of forest-based carbohydrate derivatives for film, composite and aerogel production with advances functionalities for potential applications in food and electronic appliance packaging as well as construction and clean water applications.

 

The PDF will be supervised by Drs Fatehi and Kang. The desired qualification of the candidate is solid research experience in chemical modification of biomass.

The candidate should hold a PhD in chemical engineering, chemistry, material science and engineering, biotechnology, environmental engineering, or related fields with strong publication in relevant journals of the fields.
