As a member of Enrolment Services - Undergraduate Admissions, the Transfer Credit Project Officer will work collaboratively with the admissions team to support and enhance the transfer credit process at Lakehead University. With growing interest in student mobility across institutions, this work is part of a focused effort within Undergraduate Admissions to build upon strengths, and address areas of improvement. Specific duties include conducting a scan of transfer credit assessment policies and practices, identifying stakeholders, conducting consultations, and developing guidelines to standardized credit evaluations. It is expected that the incumbent will also support the development of training materials required to effectively advise subject-matter experts, and recommend opportunities to streamline and improve process.

 

The incumbent has a post-secondary education with a minimum of 1-2 years of experience working in the field of admissions and specifically in the area of student mobility. With an understanding of the admissions cycle, the successful candidate has demonstrated knowledge of academic program requirements and regulations. An understanding of credit transfer practices at Canadian post-secondary institutions is required. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills, coupled with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to problem-solve and strong critical analysis skills. The ability to maintain confidentiality of student data records and understand the importance of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA) are a must.
