The Research Assistant position is ideally for a highly motivated candidate who has an extensive background in membrane separations and biological wastewater treatment, particularly in advanced membrane bioreactor and pilot-scale membrane systems. The research program focuses on the development of next generation membrane biotechnology for wastewater purification.

 

The key responsibilities include:

 

Design experiments; operate the membrane bioreactor systems; and monitor the biological and membrane performance of the membrane bioreactor systems.

Characterize wastewater, sludge, and effluent samples using various analytical tools.

Characterize membrane performance and fouling of the membrane bioreactor systems.

Produce top-quality conference and journal publications.

Participate in meetings, workshops, seminars, and demonstrations.

 

EXPECTED CANDIDATE EXPERIENCE

Applicants must have a BEng degree in Chemical or Environmental Engineering and at least one year research experience in membrane bioreactors and industrial pilot-scale membrane systems.
