Who is eligible? New entrants into the workforce, transitioning to a new career, or unemployed or underemployed youth who are entering a new field (18 years of age or older) who have graduated with a degree or diploma from a post-secondary institution within the last three years, are legally entitled to work in Canada, and have not previously participated in an NOHFC funded internship, or other federal or provincial internship with pay for a period of six (6) months or more. Once hired, the candidate must reside in the Northern Ontario community in which they are employed.

 

The position is for one year (40 hours/week for 52 weeks) from the date of hiring. Candidates must have reliable transportation and a valid Driver’s Licence.

 

Salary (including all benefit costs): $44,730.40 for one year.

 

Successful candidates will have knowledge of Laying out experiments and seeding crops, Plot maintenance/crop care including application of fertilizers and pesticides, small plots harvesting, Grain/seed cleaning, Data recording, entry, analysis and compilation of the Annual Research Report, minor purchases and general cleanliness and maintenance of lab and other buildings.
