This Human Resources Assistant position will provide support to the Office of Human Resources by assisting in HR functions, including, but not limited to processing employment contracts related to part-time hourly staff and Graduate Assistants, and assisting colleagues with various collective agreement processes. This position is also responsible for providing HRIS support to the HR department and university community, including report generation and departmental database expertise, along with employee payroll entries and employee benefit processing.

 

 

Post-secondary education in Human Resources or Business Administration is required. Previous industry and office experience shall be considered an asset but not required. High attention to detail, organization and time management is essential. Excellent research skills and a passion for customer service are also key factors for this role. The successful incumbent must have the ability to understand and meet deadlines, as well as the ability to work through numerous interruptions. The Human Resources Assistant must have the ability to do repetitive data entry processing including terminating employees and system file cleanup and offer suggestions/advice to solve problems with office procedures and processes.The successful incumbent must have a comprehensive knowledge of HRIS and reporting systems, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe and collective agreement interpretation. Experience working with Datatel Colleague is an asset.
