The Career Services Project Officer is responsible for the administration of special projects related to career services programming at Lakehead University. The Project Officer assists with the development of student and graduate career skills, by supporting career services and initiatives with a focus on furthering Lakehead University’s goal of equity, diversity and inclusion, as well as positive employment experiences and improved career outcomes.
The successful candidate will possess:
• Post-Secondary degree in a related field;
• Demonstrated related experience, ideally within a student-focused environment;
• Knowledge of program and event planning;
• Ability to plan and implement social and traditional marketing and communications;
• Ability to gather and analyze information for reporting purposes;
• Demonstrated creative skill and knowledge of resource development;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and interpersonal skills;
• Excellent organization, multi-tasking, and prioritization skills;
• Ability to work well in a team or independently;
• Passionate to build a diverse post secondary community, including all levels of management,
staff, and students; and,
• Experience adopting new technologies, such as applications common to a virtual office
environment, to accommodate hybrid services and events.
