Lakehead University, Thunder Bay Campus, invites applications for a Contract Lecturer in the Native Nursing Entry Program. Applications are requested to teach:

NURS 1110-FA – Communication for Indigenous Students

Lakehead University invites applications for a contract lecturer to teach Communication for Indigenous Students – NURS 1110-FA. This course is part of the Native Nursing Entry Program, which is an entry program into the Bachelor of Science in Nursing, degree program.

NURS 1110 is a practice-oriented course that examines selected aspects of communication theory related to professional nursing and cross- cultural communication. Students will be engaged in a variety of learning experiences including small group discussions, observation, role playing and simulation.

Start Date/Duration:   Fall term – September – December 2021
                                     Specific Class Days/Times to be determined

Please note that this class will be taught in person. The successful applicant must reside in or be willing to move to Thunder Bay, ON.

Qualifications Preferred: The successful applicant will have a nursing graduate degree and evidence of teaching and student evaluation experience. Experience with experiential learning and online or alternative models of delivery are highly desired. Further advanced educational credentials will also be considered.
