Lakehead University, Orillia Campus, invites applications for Contract Lecturer in the Department of Interdisciplinary Studies. Applications are requested to teach:

MUSI 3313 FDE – Topics in Music I

Application must include a Topic proposal (more than one proposal is acceptable) with brief information on the following:

  • Topic title (the shorter the better - there is a limited number of letter spaces in the timetable for titles)
  • Course (Topic) description (one or two sentences)
  • Teaching resources and material that will be used (textbook, online and library resources, audio/visual)
  • Structure of the course (weekly/units, etc.)
  • Method of evaluation (assignments, exams, projects, etc. with weight for each category)
  • Learning outcomes (what will students learn and be able to do as a result of this course).

Start Date/Duration:   September 1 – December 30, 2021

Course to be offered asynchronous/web based.

Qualifications Preferred: 

PhD (preferred) with teaching experience at the post-secondary level. andidates lacking the specific degree qualification (e.g., ABD doctoral students), but who possess an appropriate combination of experience and other academic qualifications are also encouraged to apply. Experience with experiential learning and online or alternative modes of delivery is highly desired.  Lakehead is a comprehensive university with a reputation for innovative programs and cutting-edge research.
