Lakehead University School of Nursing invites applications for two (2) Tenure-Track faculty appointments to commence August 1, 2016. The School has a vibrant undergraduate BScN program which is offered in two streams: a four year collaborative BScN with Confederation College and a three year compressed (“fast-track”) program. Additionally, the School is a partner in the Masters in Public Health program, offering the MPH-Specialization in Nursing. Lakehead University is a member of the nine-university consortium that delivers the Ontario Primary Health Care Nurse Practitioner program. Currently the School of Nursing is establishing a Masters in Nursing program for implementation within the next two years. The School of Nursing also offers the Native Nurses Entry Program, an access program to prepare Aboriginal students for entry into the baccalaureate program.
The ideal candidate will have baccalaureate nursing teaching experience and a developed scholarship portfolio. Applicants with strong clinical and teaching background in Primary Health Care or Northern/Rural Nursing, maternal/child health, or mental health are particularly being sought. Previous academic leadership experience will be an asset. Candidates should have a completed or nearly completed research doctorate degree, hold at least one graduate degree in nursing, and be registered (without restrictions) or eligible for registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
