Lakehead University has ambitious goals to develop a robust ELP program in Orillia.  As a team member of Lakehead University English Language Program (Orillia Campus), the successful candidate is a dedicated and enthusiastic individual who will play an integral role in helping grow the ELP's student body and diversify its program offerings. The incumbent will be responsible for helping the program achieve its short- and long-term international student objectives through the day-to-day operation of the program, proactively recruiting international students and agents, working with institutional partners as well as increasing global awareness of Lakehead University.   Liaising and building relationships with university departments, partner institutions, organizations, government agencies and prospective student groups is an essential part of the role.  While ensuring continuity between the Orillia and Thunder Bay programs, it is the expectation that the Manager will identify potential programs and develop dynamic marketing material.
 
 
Extensive international travel may be required.  Location and duration will be outlined in the recruitment strategy.  Travel may include arranging and accompanying senior administration and the Director, International on recruitment missions.
 
The successful candidate has completed a university degree, and has a thorough understanding of the English language market and current issues in ESL and post-secondary student recruitment.  Additional qualifications include a minimum of 5 years experience overseeing international ESL student recruitment initiatives as well as managing staff and budgets.  The incumbent has demonstrated project management experience as well as excellent customer service and relationship building skills. An outstanding communicator with the ability to negotiate and develop partnerships, the ideal candidate has excellent time management and organizational abilities with a strong independent work ethic. Sensitivity to privacy issues is expected. Previous international work experience and additional language skills, especially in key markets, are strongly preferred.
