Lakehead University has an
opportunity for employment within the Office of the Provost and Vice-President
(Academic) for a 12 month contract as clerical and reception support for the Provost and Vice-President
(Academic), the Deputy Provost and Executive Assistant to the Provost and
Vice-President (Academic). The following
is a brief outline of the responsibilities. A job fact sheet detailing the required duties
is available in the Office of Human Resources.
DUTIES:

">- Provide reception and administrative support;
- Respond to general inquiries (telephone, email and walk-in);
- Calendar maintenance, arranging appointments, meetings, travel, etc.;
- Process and track incoming and outgoing mail, academic appointment forms, and payables;
- Provide administrative support to Senate Standing Committees;
- Prepare correspondence, memoranda, meeting packages and assist with faculty communication and mail-outs, including package delivery and courier services;
- Maintain filing system within the Office of the Provost and Vice-President (Academic);
- Order and track office supplies, equipment and printing services;
- Keep accurate logs of the hiring of faculty;
- Assist with maintenance of Provost and Vice-President (Academic) website;
- Other related duties as
required.
QUALIFICATIONS:

- Grade 12 minimum, post-secondary education preferred;
- Minimum one year of related reception/office experience;
- Proficiency with computer and various office programs including Microsoft Office and Excel;
- Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills;
- Excellent spelling and grammar skills;
- Ability to work within a culturally diverse environment
- Ability to work and handle all office duties in a confidential manner;
- Ability to work within tight timelines;
- Ability to work
independently.
