Lakehead University invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor rank in the area of early reading and language arts in the Education Program at our Orillia campus. The position will commence on August 1, 2015.

 

The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. completed (or very near to completion) with emphasis on early reading and elementary language arts teacher education. Experience as an instructor in a teacher education program is highly desirable, and experience in the elementary school system is essential.  The position will include both teaching and service responsibilities in the Consecutive and Concurrent Bachelor of Education programs at the Orillia campus, as well as involvement in graduate teaching and supervision. Applicants must demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching excellence and service, and will be expected to develop a relevant research program.

 

The Faculty of Education has 32 full-time faculty members including two Canada Research Chairs, and offers Pre-Service, Native Teacher Education, Native Language Instruction, Continuing Education, MEd and PhD programs, including both Concurrent and Consecutive Bachelor of Education programs at the Orillia campus.
