ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT
Student Accessibility Services (SAS)
Part-time Position (4 hours per day)
$21.70 to $25.06 per hour
COPE Position - Level 5
Under general supervision, the incumbent will report to the Manager, Student Accessibility Services. The following is a brief outline of the responsibilities. A job fact sheet detailing the required duties is available in the Office of Human Resources.
DUTIES:
Provide general administrative assistance, respond to general questions from emails, walk-ins telephone calls, and direct specific inquiries to appropriate staff member;
Ensure confidentiality at all times;
Schedule appointments for students/staff;
Coordinate room bookings;
Maintain office files and record statistical data;
Organize and maintain office areas/rooms;
Verify Invigilator time cards for payroll;
Assist with the maintenance of the SAS website;
Liaise with other departments as required;
Assist in developing and distributing information regarding SAS services;
Update brochures, forms, and display information;
Oversee the updating of information on SAS bulletin/display boards;
Other related duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
University Degree preferred - will consider equivalent (Post Secondary education with related experience);
The ability to interact with persons with disabilities;
Proficient with Microsoft applications;
Experience with software designed for persons with disabilities (Dragon Natural Speaking, Kurzweil, Inspiration) and scanners/digital recorders an asset;
Familiarity with database software an asset;
Knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
