FIELD EDUCATION COORDINATOR
School of Social Work
8-Month Contract



Under the supervision of the Director of Social Work, and in collaboration with the Field Office in Thunder Bay, the Field Education Coordinator is responsible for the on-going development, maintenance, and evaluation of the HBSW field education program in Orillia.  Primary duties include the coordination of the placement process, development and maintenance of placement opportunities in collaboration with community agencies and partners as well as the facilitation of field orientation and provision of student field seminars, supervisory training and consultation for Field Instructors.  Additional responsibilities include coordination of the placement evaluation process, final grade assignment and participation in recruitment initiatives.  The incumbent will work collaboratively with the Field Education Coordinators at both the Orillia and Thunder Bay campuses.
 
The successful applicant will have an MSW degree and be registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers.  Knowledge of community resources in Simcoe, Muskoka, York, Durham, Peel, and Toronto is essential. Prior experience in Field Education or Social Work Education would be a strong asset for this position, as would experience working in a University setting.  The successful applicant will have strong program management, organizational, communication, and time management skills
