TRANSFER ADVISOR & CREDIT EQUIVALENCY SPECIALIST

One-Year Contract

(28 hours per week)

 

 

As a member of Enrolment Services, the Transfer Advisor & Credit Equivalency Specialist is responsible for assisting new transfer students from the point of admission and beyond as well as for building and maintaining the ONTransfer Course Equivalency Database.  Specific duties include meeting one-on-one with new and existing transfer students to discuss their transfer credits and degree requirements, assisting them throughout registration and connecting to ensure on-going success in their studies.  It is expected that the incumbent will, in consultation with program Chairs/Directors/Graduate Coordinators, assess potential graduating transfer students to ensure all degree and university requirements are met.  Additionally, the successful candidate will inform academic units about the importance of the project, facilitate the exchange of information on courses requiring review as well as strategize on the best approach to building the database and administering the inputting of information.

 

The incumbent has a post-secondary education with one year of experience working in the field of university admissions.  With an understanding of the admissions cycle, the successful candidate has demonstrated knowledge of academic program requirements, regulations, courses and timetable offerings.  Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills are coupled with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to problem-solve and make sound decisions.  The ability to maintain confidentiality of student data records and understand the importance of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA) are a must.
