Faculty of Engineering

Six-Month Contract

As a member of the Faculty of Engineering, the Engineering Projects Assistant will focus primarily on providing support for the accreditation process, assessment of recruitment and retention activities and the development of promotion content aimed at engaging external constituents.  Due to the nature of this position, the successful candidate must possess exceptional interpersonal, marketing and organizational skills. 

DUTIES:

Support of accreditation activities including the development, distribution and collection of targeted surveys;

Gather analytical data, compile reports and make appropriate recommendations to the executive committee;

Liaise with various internal departments to develop alumni engagement and promotion links through social media;

Identify newsworthy student, alumni and faculty stories that demonstrate the exceptional and unconventional in order to promote the University to external audiences;

Develop print, web and social media marketing and outreach materials consistent with the University brand;

Actively promote the Faculty at events through a collaborative approach;

Other duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Undergraduate degree, preferably in marketing, business or communications;

Excellent administrative skills to ensure accuracy, efficiency and effectiveness;

The ability to handle information in a confidential manner;

Competency in the use of computers and design (Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Office);

Working knowledge of various social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn);

Excellent communication, interviewing, organizational and interpersonal skills;

Ability to adapt writing style to the audience based on the assigned project;

Ability to multitask, manage timelines and competing priorities in an environment with constant interruption;

Ability to work independently and as a team player;

Ability to work evenings and weekends for special projects when required.
