Based out of the Thunder Bay Campus and reporting to the Director, Student Success in Orillia, the Manager, Student Success Centre requires a multifaceted approach in working with a wide variety of groups. Providing leadership to the Student Success Centre staff to develop strong student development, success and retention initiatives is critical such that staff are well prepared to work with students on wide variety of issues including leadership and engagement, helping them prepare academically, with career preparation and exploration, and developing academic supports for students.

Responsible for the overall management and operation of the Student Success Centre including all SSC staff across both campuses, the incumbent also operationalizes the programming and services that promote student success and retention.  The Manager is instrumental in the planning and delivery of orientation activities across both campuses as well as overall First Year Experience programming. This position has a lead role in leadership, mentoring and supervising staff, including coordinating training and other activities related to staff development to promote student success and retention efforts.

The successful candidate should have 3 to 5 years' progressive management experience within a post secondary environment with a focus on student services, program development, talent management and community partnership. With an emphasis on customer service, the incumbent must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, experience and commitment to diversity, financial acumen, problem solving and analytical skills.  The successful candidate must be able to work independently without close supervision in a demanding, fast paced environment.  Candidates should also be familiar with various student development models and theories.
