We are currently looking for a qualified Project Manager to join our Lakehead University ONCAT team to develop pathways for transfer college students into our HBSc Computer Science program. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with knowledge of post-secondary education, project management and Computer Science to join this academic team working with a number of colleges developing academic transfer pathways.

Reporting to the Lakehead University ONCAT team, the Project Manager will ensure accurate and efficient execution of the ONCAT agreement. Specifically, the Project Manager will be responsible for contacting selected colleges in Ontario (including Confederation College, Georgian College, Sheridan College, Seneca College and Humber College) and collecting information on a variety of their programs, and seeking their input on issues of course content and delivery. Working closely with the LU ONCAT team and a Computer Science student, the successful candidate will have a reputation for maturity and sound business judgement and be very comfortable leading and working in a team environment. The incumbent must have excellent verbal communication skills, experience writing accurate and quality agreements or reports, problem solving, analysis, and managing and maintaining budgets. The successful candidate must have a post-secondary degree (Computer Science is preferred) and experience with the college administrative process is considered an asset.

Key Activities and Responsibilities include:

Detailed curriculum analysis of the programs offered at Colleges and the HBSc program offered at LU.

Creation and implementation of pathways from diploma programs in Computer Programmer, Computer Programmer Analyst and Applied Computing diploma programs to our Lakehead University degree program Honors Bachelors in Computer Science (HBSc), including recommendations on how to harmonize courses and programs.

Meet with the LU ONCAT team frequently, providing regular verbal and written reports related to program updates, progress and draft agreements between selected colleges and the University.

Meeting with the program coordinators/program managers at colleges to determine the applicability of the proposed pathway, with an aim to developing a multilateral agreement between Lakehead University and selected colleges.

Submission of the pathway agreements for review and approval following the Senate approved process at Lakehead University.

Communicate the pathway(s) to the College Program Coordinators, and provide assistance where needed to obtain approvals from the colleges.

Recruit a computer science proficient student helper.
