Lakehead University, Thunder Bay Campus, invites applications for a Technologist in the School of Kinesiology at a level commensurate with experience and qualifications. The position is expected to commence early fall, 2016.

The Technologist works closely with the faculty, staff, and students of the School of Kinesiology. Responsibilities include: troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining research and laboratory equipment; providing computer and technical support; and designing and constructing specialized mechanical and electronic equipment for laboratory and research applications. Applicants should have a background which includes a combination of practical and theoretical knowledge in electronics, mechanics, computer hardware and software programming, instrumentation, and interfacing. A demonstrated ability to work well both independently and as part of a team is required.

Applicants should possess a minimum of an Engineering Technology Diploma combined with three years of relevant work experience.  Additional related certifications would be valued, and an interest in or a knowledge of the area of Kinesiology would be an asset.
