As a member of the External Relations Team and reporting to the Alumni and Community Relations Director, the incumbent will be an ambassador for Lakehead University. Specific responsibilities include establishing objectives and strategies for both the University and its Alumni Association to maximize alumni interest and engagement in signature and significant events including the golf tournament, convocation and homecoming.  The successful candidate will help plan and execute alumni engagement events, promote alumni awareness and active participation in activities as well as encourage use of alumni affinity programs.  Additionally, the incumbent will be responsible for program planning and implementation, raising awareness for recruitment and mentoring engagement among the alumni population and coordination of domestic chapter/ambassador activities.

The successful candidate has a university degree or the equivalent combination of education and fundraising experience.  Additional qualifications include an understanding of annual giving practices and the ability to effectively establish and maintain cooperative working relationships within a diverse constituency. Previous experience coordinating and managing volunteers would be an asset. Exceptional written and oral communication is a must. Committed to achieving fundraising goals, the incumbent has exemplary organizational and interpersonal skills and the ability to exercise diplomacy and good judgment. Discretion, tact and confidentiality are imperative.
