Bookstore Supervisor (Orillia)

Full time, Band 4, $ 47,577 - $59,471

The Bookstore Supervisor is responsible for the day to day operations of Orillia Campus Store including hiring, training, customer service, payment handling, merchandising, ordering, custom orders, inventory management and other related duties. This independent and enthusiastic retail leader works under the direction of the Bookstore Manager (Thunder Bay) to create a student centered store, in accordance with University policies and procedures and in keeping with industry best practices.

The Bookstore Supervisor will develop store employees, build relationships with customers and stakeholders, and work collaboratively with the Bookstore team in Thunder Bay. They will also maintain and enhance appropriate records and systems, prepare promotional displays and coordinate marketing strategies, and assist with budget preparation, monitoring and review of financial target and goals.

QUALIFICATIONS:

         Post-secondary diploma/degree in business, marketing, or a related field

         3 years of relevant retail work experience, which includes at least one year of supervisory or management experience

         Excellent customer service, problem solving and conflict resolution skills

         Superior written and verbal communication skills

         Ability to establish and maintain strong interpersonal relationships and to foster a positive work environment

         Demonstrated ability to exercise judgment and take initiative

         Leadership skills with ability to develop and motivate employees

         Knowledge of various social media platforms and how best to market across multiple channels

         Strong organization, attention to detail and decision making skills;

         Proficiency with computers including with word processing and email; knowledge of computer management and e-commerce systems preferred

         Ability to lift and move heavy items on a regular basis

This exciting retail opportunity consists typically of full time hours, during the day, Monday to Friday, with occasional requirement for hours during the evening or weekends.
