Overview


The Recruitment Advisor plays a key role in attracting and converting prospective students to Lakehead University through a variety of recruitment initiatives and events. Acting as an ambassador for the University, this position engages with prospective students, families, and educational partners to promote programs, services, and the overall student experience.

Responsibilities


  • Represent the University at recruitment events, including high school visits, fairs, and on- and off-campus events
  • Develop, coordinate, and maintain recruitment travel schedules (Fall and Spring), and support event planning throughout the year
  • Participate in comprehensive undergraduate recruitment and conversion efforts, targeting high school, transfer, and mature student populations
  • Build and maintain relationships with guidance counsellors, teachers, and college transfer advisors to support recruitment initiatives
  • Develop and deliver engaging, tailored presentations to diverse audiences about academic programs, admissions, financial aid, residence, and student life
  • Plan and participate in specialized recruitment events and campus-based programs
  • Support prospect and applicant conversion strategies, including outreach via phone, online chat, and mass communications
  • Assist in the development and execution of recruitment campaigns using data-driven approaches
  • Gather and analyze prospective student data to support recruitment strategies and initiatives
  • Maintain accurate records and databases, ensuring consistent and personalized communication with prospective students
  • Support the coordination and execution of applicant events in collaboration with the Recruitment Coordinator
  • Ensure all recruitment activities align with institutional goals and contribute to enrollment targets

Qualifications


  • A valid Ontario driver's license and a willingness 
  • Ability to travel on university business, often on short notice
  • Strong decision-making and sound judgment skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume, target-driven environment
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities under pressure
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Strong communication and presentation abilities
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Experience with data management and CRM systems is an asset
