Indigenous Access Program Coordinator
Overview
Reporting to the Vice-Provost, Indigenous Initiatives, the Indigenous Access Program Coordinator will be responsible to manage all aspects of the Indigenous Access Programs. This includes supervision of the ITYP Program Coordinator and the direct coordination and management of the Indigenous Nursing Entry Program (INEP), and the Indigenous STEM Entry Program (ISTEM).
Responsibilities
- Manage the Indigenous Access programs including, but not limited to, human resource aspects, development, planning, scheduling, execution and evaluation.
- Course instruction, teaching academic skills, critical thinking and university transitions. Develop syllabi, content and tools.
- Liaise with other departments to organize and coordinate the delivery of programs and department run activities
- Administration of program including selection and screening process
- Manage promotional activities to highlight programs
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- An Undergraduate degree in related field
- Masters degree in a related field is an asset
- At least two years of teaching or related experience in Indigenous education
- Bachelor of Education degree is an asset
- A thorough understanding of the public education system, from high school, including adult education, through to post-secondary
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, Google applications, and online education platforms
- The ideal candidate will be a person with lived experience as a First Nation, Inuit or Métis person
