Senior Research Assistant
Overview
This position supports research activities within the Health Sciences department, with a focus on knowledge translation and the effective dissemination of research findings. The role involves coordinating research-related tasks, supporting data collection and analysis, and translating research outcomes into accessible formats for diverse audiences including academic, clinical, and community stakeholders. The incumbent works with a high degree of independence while collaborating closely with researchers, students, and external partners.
Responsibilities
- Support knowledge translation activities, including summarizing research findings into reports, presentations, and plain-language materials
- Assist in the coordination and execution of research projects, including data collection, analysis, and documentation
- Prepare content for publications, presentations, and stakeholder communications
- Maintain research data, databases, and documentation in accordance with established protocols
- Support participant recruitment and engagement activities, including communication with community or clinical partners
- Assist in developing and maintaining standard operating procedures (SOPs) and research protocols
- Guide students or junior staff on research processes and tools
- Ensure compliance with ethical, safety, and quality standards in all research activities
Qualifications
- University degree in Health Sciences, Public Health, or a related discipline
- Minimum 1–2 years of relevant research or knowledge translation experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)
- Experience supporting research projects, including data collection, analysis, and reporting
- Strong written communication skills, with the ability to translate complex information into clear, accessible language
- Familiarity with research methodologies and data management practices
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks and deadlines
- Experience working with diverse stakeholders, including community or clinical partners, is an asset
