About this Job

Lakehead University has a unique opportunity to join the team as a Digital Content Coordinator. Working hand-in-hand with our communications, marketing and web development departments, you’ll help deliver incredible content to our digital audiences. The selected candidate will help shape and deliver digital content and social media strategy to increase brand awareness in the postsecondary market.

Job Duties

  • Maintaining a social media presence that elevates Lakehead University’s brand through Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, etc.
  • Create and develop engaging content while writing scripts for reels, shorts, and other photo and video content on our social media platforms.
  • Film, edit and compose graphics and video to support Lakehead’s content production.
  • Shoot, take and edit photos to support campaigns, social and website content.
  • Support maintenance and regular content updates, assist in content creation, UX monitoring and improvements of Lakehead’s website.
  • Work in partnership with the marketing team to design and manage social and digital campaigns.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure the production of high-quality work.
  • Pitch and contribute ideas and concepts for our various social media platforms.
  • Keeping up with latest trends in storytelling, video production, and social media.
  •  Assist in any other relevant tasks related to communications and marketing.
  •  Provide social media support and training for colleagues.
  • Other duties as required.

 

Qualifications

  • College diploma or a combination of related experience in photography, graphic design, advertising, marketing, interactive media design, or related field.
  • Experience with video editing software (After Effects, Premiere and/or Final Cut Pro).
  • Experience with Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator.
  • Experience with social media platforms, specifically YouTube, Facebook, Instagram and TikTok as well as tools such as Later.
  • Knowledge of Google Analytics and SEO is a big plus!
  • Ability to write creative and engaging social media posts on various platforms including captions and headlines.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Demonstrated writing and proofreading skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

 

Working Conditions

  • Primarily an office work environment
  • Availability to travel across Ontario for events is required
  • Varying hours and days of work to accommodate travel and events
