Personal Leadership Perspective (SOQP Module 1)

In this module, candidates further develop and apply their personal leadership
resources within the context of system leadership. The focus is on understanding the
interaction of the personal and professional ethical self and the need for ongoing
reflection and learning. The focus includes building candidate capacity to establish and
sustain a broadly shared mission, vision and goals.

Module 1 includes a face-to-face component. Please contact the Department of Professional Development for more information. NOTE: Due to restrictions in place with COVID-19, the face-to-face component of this course will occur synchronously online until further notice.

Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) Certificate Program

Our TESL Certificate program is condensed into one online course, which you must complete in order to successfully complete the program. To meet TESL requirements, you must register for and complete the following courses:

  • EDUC 8300 (ESL 1): English as a Second Language Certificate Program contains an introduction to teaching English as a second language, as well as content that addresses the professional issues associated with teaching English as a second language.
  • English as a Second Language Practicum is a 20 hour, compulsory practicum that allows you to apply the knowledge that you learned in EDUC 8300.
