Stay tuned for the re-vamp of the Financial Advocate program here at Lakehead. Financial literacy is a part of day to day life. If you have a passion for helping others, are interested in money management and enjoy engaging with other students this may be a volunteer opportunity for you. Coming September 2024 will be a monthly in person, on campus and web based speaker series.

To receive the Financial Advocate Badge you will need to complete the following:

  • Register by emailing financial.engagement@lakeheadu.ca
  • Attend 5/6 sessions.
  • Share a personal testimony about one session you attended.
  • Bring one other individual with you to one the session.

 

Those who qualify for the Financial Advocate Badge will be entered in a draw for a chance to win a Lakehead University Prize Pack. (draw date in April 2025)  The badge will be sent to you via email and you are able to download it and show that it is a verified certification. You could add this to your resume and your Lakehead co-curricular record!

At the end of each session there will be a prize draw. If you feel this is too much of a commitment for you, please attend a session or two, come learn something and you can still enter the session draw.
