Becoming Certified with the Ontario College of Teachers

You must be a certified member of the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) to teach in an Ontario publically funded school. To become a member of the OCT, you must meet certain requirements, apply to the college itself, and pay an annual membership fee to maintain your certification.
