Where my Thunderwolves at?! Psssst… that’s you! We can’t believe Orientation is a week away. As you may have read over the last few issues, the staff here at the Student Success Centre have been busy preparing for what we’re expecting to be an incredible few days with you all next week. We’re all anxious to meet you and get things started, but before we do, we have a few final things to share with you in this last issue of Wolfie’s Weekly Adventure.

| Countdown to Orientation: ONE WEEK AWAY |
The wait is almost over! We are ONE WEEK AWAY from Orientation and in just a few days, we will officially be kicking off another great year at Lakehead. Participating in Orientation is the perfect way to get started. Be sure to check out newadventure.lakeheadu.ca for a full schedule and event details. If you haven’t registered, please do so now as your opportunity is almost up. We don’t want you to miss out on all of the goodies and fun events taking place! If you’re moving into Residence, you might be thinking “how can I fit my mattress into my suitcase?” Don’t worry -- your room is fully furnished and your mattress will need to stay at home. | Academic Success Tips |
Too cool for school? Not you! It is important to begin your #LakeheadAdventure with academic success in your priority list and that’s what the Student Success Centre is here to help with. During Orientation, there are a variety of ways to connect with departments and services that will assist you along the way. Your faculty orientation is one way to ensure you begin on the right path. Orillia: Thursday’s Support Services Fair will cover important information and services that will help you thrive and succeed at Lakehead. Following that, feel free to book an appointment with a Student Success advisor for one-to-one assistance to stay on top of your studies or visit the Academic Support Zone for tutoring and writing assistance. Thunder Bay: Keep your eyes peeled for information in week 2 for academic prep sessions hosted by the Student Success Centre. This will continue all semester long! We also encourage you to book an appointment with a Student Success advisor for one-to-one assistance to stay on top of your studies or visit the Academic Support Zone for tutoring and writing assistance. |
| Campus Connections: LUSU |
The Lakehead University Student Union (LUSU) ensures students can pursue academic excellence, personal and social growth at Lakehead, free from barriers related to income, race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, family status, or ability. Through LUSU, students can access a wide variety of services, supports, job and volunteer opportunities, and social clubs and events. Pssst.. Did you know that your U-Pass is included with your student fees and gives you a year-long city bus pass? Orillia: Stop by the LUSU office to pick up your U-Pass on the first day of school! It is valid year-round from September 1st to August 31st. Thunder Bay: If you want to grab your U-Pass early, be sure to stop by LUSU to pick up your U-Pass on the 29th from 9:30am – 3:00pm or on the 30th from 9:00am – 12:00pm. Following that, your U-Pass is available for pick-up during regular business hours from the LUSU office. |
| Lakehead Tools: There's An App For That! |
Lakehead Student Success App “Lakehead Student Success” is the official app for Lakehead University. The app is used throughout Orientation to keep you informed of the day’s events. It also helps you access important information such as student services, places to eat, city connections, Athletics, contests, social media and more. Thunder Bay Campus:
